A nice variation on the usual cartridge setups we do - this one involves the installation of the amazing "Houdini" cartridge decoupler from The Funk Firm, with a Cadenza Blue MC cart on a MoFI UltraDeck turntable.
By decoupling your cartridge from destructive vibrations, Houdini allows your stylus to track with unprecedented precision, revealing musical details you never knew existed in your setup.
Adding a Houdini to a tonearm means we have to increase tonearm height by an additional (approx) 6mm. Once the Houdini is fitted, it's business as usual in terms of our cartridge setup procedure.
The results?
Naturally, we are very, very impressed with the improvements.
