With vinyl records becoming ever so popular, it's now more important than ever to protect your investment against current or potential damage.
Damage caused by dust, plastic fragments, glues and residue used in the initial factory pressings can create popping and crackling sounds when playing. In some extreme cases, warping can occur.
What can we do to care for your vinyl records? Many people use cleaning brushes, cleaning solutions with microfibre cloths etc. but there are trade offs in these methods. Manual cleaning can cause accidental scratches due to the surface not being properly prepared. We use commercial grade vacuum and ultrasonic cleaning machines to produce outstanding results and the best possible sound quality. For warped vinyl records, we alse provide a record flattening service to get it back to its original shape.

CLEARAUDIO MATRIX PROFESSIONAL SONIC
The cleaning of vinyl records is a key discipline in maintaining a high quality record collection and Clearaudio's research and development team continue to strive for the perfect equipment for the job. The double matrix professional SONIC is our best solution yet.
Like a camera with dual automatic and manual functions, the double matrix professional SONIC offers the possibility of operating the whole cleaning process at the touch of a single button, as well as the ability to control each step in the process with a user-friendly operating panel.
The cleaning head and the automatic cleaning programs are optimized for 12" records of various thicknesses.Smaller records (7" and 10") can be cleaned with the manual cleaning mode without changing the cleaning head. Another improvement is the removable microfibre carrier of the cleaning and vibrations pads, which enable effortless exchange of the microfibre stripes. An LED light indicates the cleaning fluid level in the internal tank and, as an additional precaution, the suction turbine features overheating protection.
Made from high quality and heavy-duty materials, the double matrix professional SONIC is designed for continuous operation, so that traders can clean complete record collections. And yet it is incredibly easy to use and maintain.
DEGRITTER ULTRASONIC MACHINE
The core of Degritter is the 120kHz ultrasonic cleaning system. It has been carefully designed in-house to make sure that records are cleaned thoroughly and without any damage to the surface of the record.
Ultrasonic cleaning works by creating a large number of microscopical bubbles in the cleaning bath, a phenomena called cavitation. The bubbles are a vacuum created by high frequency pressure waves moving through the water. Every ultrasonic cycle bubbles are formed and collapsed, releasing energy as heat and minuscule strong water jets. These effects combined thoroughly clean all surfaces down to a microscopic level.
A 120kHz frequency provides finer and more evenly distributed cleaning action than lower frequency systems. In fact, this technology at even higher frequencies is used to clean parts in the semiconductor industry, where surfaces need to be pure on a molecular level.
Degritter uses a custom ultrasonic bath with a custom 300W ultrasonic amplifier that has been designed specifically for cleaning vinyl records. The cleaning bath has four ultrasonic transducers (emitters), two on both sides covering the whole record. Degritter also comes with Frequency Sweep feature, which provides better cavitation energy and power distribution. Degritter is the only cleaning solution on the market working at 120kHz and having the Frequency Sweep feature.
FURUTECH DF-2 VINYL FLATTENER
Every vinyl enthusiast has records in their collection, or come across LPs they'd love to own, but were just too warped for any cartridge/arm to track. The DF-2 the one-stop, one-button solution to your problems! The DF-2 provides controlled-heat perfect flattening for all your warped records, even those with only slight irregularities just enough to unsettle your cartridge and cause mistracking.
Warps are bad news no matter how you look at it. If the arm/cartridge remains parallel to the LP’s surface as with a flat record, VTA (Vertical Tracking Angle) remains unchanged throughout every rotation. Additionally, as the arm/cartridge tracks a warp on its upside, it places greater pressure on the stylus which changes VTF (Vertical Tracking Force) until the peak of the warp, whereupon the cartridge becomes "unloaded" with too little VTF on the way down.
