NAD C268 Bridgeable Stereo Power Amplifier
NAD Electronics have been making HiFi electronics since 1972 and continue making great value equipment that also makes music sound great.
Douglas HiFi NAD C268 Notes : The NAD C268 sounds more powerful than many other amplifiers of similar specification. It presents a musical, slightly warm sound that suits a wide variety of music - especially good with vocals... and with the ability to be bridged there will never be a shortage of power.
The C268 is very flexible for a power amp - it can be run as a (2x) 80W rms 2 channel stereo power amplifier or it can be bridged to become a 300w RMS monobloc powerhouse. The C268 can be used in any system as it has both RCA and Balanced XLR inputs that feature manually controllable input gain trim. The NAD C268 is also the perfect companion when paired with the NAD C368 integrated Hybrid DAC / amplifier to either bi-amp compatible speakers or both models can be bridged to then output (2x) 300W RMS of power.
The NAD Classic line continues to subscribe to the long held NAD philosophy of ensuring plenty of reserve dynamic power to cope with playing actual music - not just test tones. They deliver a powerful sound with a smooth, non fatiguing sound that suits all styles of music.
(ASR test results show 4ohm burst power to be over 230w in stereo mode and over 470w when bridged as a monoblock !)
As with every amp in the Classic Series, NAD have carefully thought through all the possible use cases and strategically chosen the most essential of features. Thanks to selectable balanced inputs, the C 268 is a natural mate for high-end preamps and processors. These inputs include an input gain / trim control which is incredibly useful for matching with other components, or for use in bi-amping speakers. A line out allows further addition of power on the same channel for extra speakers or subwoofers. On top of all this connectivity is a bridge switch that turns the C 268 into an amazingly powerful Monoblock amplifier.
A remarkably affordable stereo amplifier, the NAD C 268 has features and technology unmatched by other amplifiers in its class.
