Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB Turntable (defeatable phono pre-amp built-in)

The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB is one of our favourite value to money record players on the market. It has rock steady speed on a tight tolerance sub-platter assembly, a glass platter as well as a decnt cartridge and good quality defeatable phono pre-amp. Also having the built-in speed control means changing from 33 rpm to 45 rpm is a quick, simple push of a button. Easy to use, great sound and good quality build make this the full featured turntable to beat at the price point. Including a high quality Ortofon OM series cartridge helps the T1 sound like vinyl should.

Phonostage on board

The Pro-Ject T1 Phono SB includes an on-board switchable moving magnet phono stage. This means that the turntable is ready-to-go out of the box, but also has the flexibility for the customer to upgrade their phono stage in the future. This could be a separate phonostage, or an in-built phono in their existing amplifier.

Built-in Phono Stage & Electronic Speed Switch – Made in Europe

The stylish CNC-machined plinth of the T1 features no plastic parts and is carefully manufactured to ensure there are no hollow spaces inside, therefore avoiding unwanted vibrations within the chassis. Carrying this philosophy through the design, the glass platter is also a heavy, zero-resonance design. Finally, the purpose-chosen turntable feet also do a good job of isolating the T1 from ambient vibrations around your hi-fi system. In the T1 the motor drives a belt-system, attached to a newly designed sub-platter, which is mounted into an ultra-precise 0.001mm main bearing with a hardened steel axle and brass bushing. The tonearm new tonearm has an effective length of 8.6”. This one-piece aluminium tonearm also features low-friction bearings for absolute accuracy in use. The T1 comes with a pre-adjusted Ortofon OM 5E Moving Magnet cartridge and is ready to use right out of the box. Also super shielded, semi-symmetrical, low-capacitance Pro-Ject phono cables are included.
